RC50 Publications Partnerships

RC50 maintains a small number of strategic collaborations that support its mission to advance critical research on tourism, mobility, and global social change.

The collaboration between the RC50 and Tourism, Culture and Communication was initiated by Keith Hollinshead and managed for a number of years between Keith Hollinshead and Rukeya Suleman as RC50 Publications Coordinators (2018-2022). Currently managed by Rodanthi Tzanelli as the journal’s new Critical Reviews Editor, it comprises commissioning special issues for the journal and state-of-the-art critical articles on tourism scholarship. Critical review articles are agreed only by invitation by the Critical Review Editor. The special issues are normally guest-edited and written by RC50 members.

Alongside its academic networks and working groups, RC50 also benefits from an occasional partnership with the peer‑reviewed journal Hospitality and Society (Intellect). https://www.intellectbooks.com/hospitality-society

This partnership was initiated by RC50 Website and Communications Coordinator, Rodanthi Tzanelli, who also serves as Co‑Editor in Chief of Hospitality and Society. The collaboration creates opportunities for shared dissemination, thematic exchanges, and the promotion of research at the intersection of tourism, hospitality, and social theory. While not a formal publishing pipeline, the partnership enables RC50 members to stay connected with current debates in hospitality studies and to engage with a journal that foregrounds critical, interdisciplinary approaches to the field.

RC50 welcomes collaborations that strengthen dialogue across research communities and support the visibility of innovative scholarship.
